Almost every other PDF site sends your file to a server, processes it there and then promises to delete it. This one never sends it at all. The merge is done by JavaScript running on your own machine, which is also why it keeps working after you disconnect. For the documents people actually merge, signed contracts, invoices, bank statements, passport scans and medical reports, that difference is the entire point.
Pages are copied without re-encoding, so nothing is degraded along the way. Text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their original resolution, and embedded fonts carry over. The result is your documents placed end to end, in the order you chose, and nothing else.
One honest limitation: digital signatures do not survive a merge, and that is true of every merging tool. A signature certifies one exact file, so adding pages breaks the match by design. If a signature has to stay valid, combine the documents first and sign the finished PDF afterwards.
