Which Tool Do I Need?

Find the sentence that sounds like you.

What you are trying to do Tool Why that one
I need a percentage, a discount or a tax figure Percentage Calculator Seventeen different percentage questions, each with its own panel.
I have fractions to add, and the answer has to be exact Fraction Calculator Whole-number arithmetic throughout, so nothing is rounded on the way.
I have a list of numbers and want the average Average, Mean, Median, Mode Calculator Mean, median and mode together, because which one you want depends on the data.
I need to know how spread out my numbers are Standard Deviation Calculator Both the sample and population formulas, so you can see which you are quoting.
I have to split something in a ratio, or scale a recipe Ratio Calculator And it shows what each part is of the whole, which is where ratios go wrong.
I need a common denominator, or the biggest tile that fits LCM and HCF Calculator LCM for the first, HCF for the second, and both come out together.
I want to pick random numbers or shuffle a draw Random Number Generator Unbiased, with or without repeats, from the browser cryptographic source.
I need to round something, and get it right Rounding and Significant Figures Calculator Seven rules compared, because different software rounds differently.
I want to know whether a number is prime Prime Number Checker Certain up to 24 digits, with the factors when the number is small enough.
I have an ax squared plus bx plus c to solve Quadratic Equation Solver Roots, discriminant, vertex, and a check that puts them back in.

How These Math Tools Work

The same four steps, whichever one you pick.

1
Pick the tool for the question The table above matches what you are trying to do against the tool that does it, which is more use than a list of names when you are not sure what the thing is called.
2
Type or paste your numbers A spreadsheet column pastes straight in wherever a list is wanted. Anything that is not a number is listed for you rather than counted as zero, which is the failure that quietly ruins spreadsheet averages.
3
Read the working, not just the answer Every tool shows how it got there. That is what turns a number you were given into one you can check, and it is what homework asks for anyway.
4
Keep what you were doing All of them have Saved Setups and History tabs, so you can come back to the numbers you were working with. Both live in your browser only, and can be cleared from the Settings tab.

Why These Rather Than the Usual Calculator Sites

The things that are actually different, not a list of adjectives.

Every answer comes with its working The common denominator, the highest common factor it divided by, the sorted list with the middle marked, each root put back into your equation. A tool that prints one number gives you nothing to check, and checking is the entire point of showing your working.
Where there are two right answers, you get both Standard deviation has a sample formula and a population one. Rounding has seven rules and different software picks different ones. Most calculators quietly choose for you and do not say which. These show both, or all seven, with your own numbers in them.
Arithmetic that does not drift Fractions run on whole numbers, so a third stays a third. Rounding works on the digits you typed rather than a stored approximation. The quadratic solver uses the arrangement that does not lose precision. These are not details: each of them changes the answer on real inputs.
Nothing you type leaves your machine No server, no account, no logging. Whatever you paste in, including anything from work, is read by the page you are on and nowhere else. Load one once and it keeps working with the network switched off.

About WizTools Math Tools

Most online calculators do the arithmetic and stop. That is fine when the arithmetic is the whole question, and a surprising amount of the time it is not. Whether you want the mean or the median depends on your data rather than on the sum. Whether standard deviation should divide by n or by n minus 1 depends on where your numbers came from. Whether 2.5 rounds to 2 or 3 depends on which of several perfectly standard rules is in use. In every one of those cases, a single number with no explanation is less useful than it looks.

So these tools are built the other way round. Where there are two defensible answers, both are shown, with the difference on your own numbers. Where a method has a well known failure, the failure is named and the better method is used. And every result comes with the steps that produced it, because a calculator you can check is worth more than one you have to believe.

The arithmetic itself is done carefully, which matters more than it sounds. Fractions are worked out in whole numbers, so a third stays exactly a third instead of becoming 0.333 and drifting. Rounding operates on the digits you typed rather than on the floating point value your browser stored, which is why 2.675 to two places comes out as 2.68 here and 2.67 in most other places. The quadratic solver uses the rearranged formula that does not lose accuracy when the coefficients are far apart. None of these are exotic; they are just the versions that are right.

And none of it goes anywhere. There is no server behind any of these pages, no account, and nothing recorded. Load one, disconnect from the internet, and it carries on working, which is both a privacy property and a reasonable definition of a tool that actually belongs to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

About the set as a whole. Each tool has its own answers too.

Yes. Every one of them runs entirely in your browser. Load the page once, turn the network off, and it keeps working. There is no server involved at any point, so nothing you type is uploaded and nothing is logged.

Because for some questions there genuinely are two. Standard deviation has a sample formula and a population one and they give different numbers. Rounding has several standard rules and Excel and Python disagree about which to use. Showing you one and not saying which would leave you unable to check anything.

Wherever a list of numbers is wanted, yes. New lines, tabs, commas, spaces and semicolons all count as separators, in any mix. Anything that is not a number is listed back to you instead of being counted as zero, which is the quiet failure that ruins spreadsheet averages.

Saved Setups keeps a named set of numbers you come back to. History keeps recent calculations so you can load one straight back. Both are stored in your browser only, and both can be cleared from the Settings tab, which also has the option to switch history off entirely.

Yes. Every tool has a full screen mode in the bar at the top, which hides the rest of the page and gives the calculator the whole screen. Press Escape or the same button to come back.

Because it is the difference between an answer and a checkable answer. It is also what school and university work actually ask for: nobody gets marks for a number on its own. Where the working is long it is behind a button, but it is always there.

No. There is no account, no sign up, no watermark and no limit on how much you use them. There is nothing to upgrade to.
